The purpose of this scholarship competition,  established in 2019 by the Education Committee of the Laredo Chamber of Commerce, is to provide financial opportunities for interested graduating students while also instilling a sense of community pride in young adults. The competition recognizes graduates’ creativity and academic achievement.

Applicants were asked to submit a 120-second video detailing 1) why attending college is important to them, 2) how Laredo has helped them become the person they are, and 3) how they think they can make a difference for their community.  The Education Committee of the Laredo Chamber of Commerce Foundation is sponsoring the competition with matching funds from Killam Development, which will be presented at a ceremony on Thursday, August 1st at the Laredo Country Club.
